Flinders University, Adelaide

Flinders is everything a modern university should be - progressive and dynamic yet still friendly and accessible. We offer a vibrant and stimulating environment in which to work or study and have a long-held reputation as the "students' university".

We are committed to innovation, excellence and equity in all that we do and are particularly proud of our range of special access schemes that encourage and support students from non-traditional backgrounds.

We offer more than 160 undergraduate and postgraduate courses, as well as higher degree research supervision across all disciplines. Many courses use new information and communication technologies to supplement face-to-face teaching and provide flexible options.

We also have a high research profile and consistently rank among Australia's top universities on a per capita basis for research spending and for the citation of our work in professional journals. There is a strong emphasis on collaboration between disciplines.

Domestic exchange information – international students welcome!

What does Flinders offer that my Aussie uni doesn't give me? Every Australian university is distinctive in its offerings and its teaching philosophy. Flinders is perfectly situated to offer aspects of climate and geography unique in Australia. You will be able to use your knowledge as the basis for comparisons in future work. What you learn at Flinders will complement your final years at your home university.

A domestic exchange provides you with a chance to experience a different city for a whole semester. Experience the subtle cultural differences – and the not-so-subtle climate differences. Meet new people and live new experiences. Above all, you will have fun!

Have a look at some suggested subjects from the huge range of subjects available. Check pre-requisite requirements and seek permission to apply where necessary. If your home university has stated core units, you may find equivalent units listed that have been approved by your academic contact.

About Adelaide

New Yorker magazine once described Adelaide as "possibly the last well-planned and contented metropolis on earth". It's easy to see why, for here is a city of great visual harmony and a classical elegant style, superbly set beside the River Torrens between the Adelaide Hills and waters of Gulf St Vincent.

Adelaide is blessed with a good life that no other Australian city can match. These things combine to make it a great holiday location, whether you choose to stay in the city, by the sea or in the surrounding towns and suburbs.
